I develop software that measures, models, and optimizes sound in real spaces.

ABOUT

Nicolas Adler is a recent graduate of the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, where he earned a Master’s degree in Music Engineering Technology with a focus on Acoustics and Digital Signal Processing (DSP). He previously completed his Bachelor’s in Cello Performance in 2022 and was awarded Grand Prize Concerto Competition Winner in 2021.

Nicolas brings hands-on experience in both acoustics and embedded audio development. At Acentech (Cambridge, MA), he worked as an AV Technology and Acoustics intern, performing room acoustic analysis with tools like Room EQ Wizard (REW) and SPL meters, developing MATLAB-based acoustic parameter estimators and ML models, and working with architectural and CAD platforms such as Revit, AutoCAD, SoundVision, ODEON, and SolidWorks.

At Motorola Solutions (Fort Lauderdale, FL), Nicolas joined the Audio Solutions / Software team as a Co-Op, where he contributed to embedded audio development in C/C++, conducted acoustic testing on communication devices, and wrote MATLAB and Python scripts to streamline measurement workflows. He collaborated within version-controlled environments using JIRA, Bitbucket, and OpenGrok.

Driven by a passion for building tools that blend software and sound, Nicolas has created a range of personal projects spanning audio plugin development, acoustic modeling, transducer simulation, Spanish dialect classification, and machine learning-based STI estimation.
